Leigh Crowder

LEIGH CROWDER, MOTR/L, PYT-C

Leigh has been working as an occupational therapist with children with special needs in hospitals, outpatient clinics and public schools for ten years. She has also been teaching yoga since 2003 in both school settings and privately. Her specialties include early intervention with children with special needs and working with children with a variety of diagnosis who demonstrate attention and behavioral difficulties. Leigh’s expertise in occupational therapy allows her to evaluate the child and apply yogic and therapeutic techniques most beneficial to the individual child.

Leigh has a Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Florida and a Masters in Occupational Therapy from Nova Southeastern University.  She developed her training in San Diego, CA, where she worked at Rady Children’s Hospital and taught children’s yoga for three years at University of California-San Diego Preschool and Kindergarten. Leigh has a 200-hour yoga teaching certification from the Institute of Progressive Yoga Therapies, as well as three children’s yoga certifications; Radiant Child Yoga, and the Mini Yogis and Advanced Mini Yogis Certification. Leigh is completing her studies as a Professional Yoga Therapist through Professional Yoga Therapy Studies, specializing in Pediatric Yoga Therapy.  She also is a yoga teacher with Yoga Kidz– a curriculum-based yoga program and Charleston County Public Schools.
